This very simple example shows perfectly where we put our priorities in terms of really important information to learn at school and in terms of appreciation of people on this planet.

Vasili Arkhipov

Vasili Alexandrovich Arkhipov (Russian: Василий Александрович Архипов) (30 January 1926 – 19 August 1998) was a Soviet Navy officer credited with casting the single vote that prevented a Soviet nuclear strike (and presumably all out nuclear war) during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Such an attack likely would have caused a major global thermonuclear response which could destroy much of the world. As flotilla commander and second-in-command of the nuclear-missile submarine B-59, only Arkhipov refused to authorise the captain’s use of nuclear torpedoes against the United States Navy, a decision requiring the agreement of all three senior officers aboard. In 2002 Thomas Blanton, who was then director of the US National Security Archive, said that “Vasili Arkhipov saved the world”.

We believe, that the situation of facing the biggest threat of mankind is at the same time the biggest chance to come together for the very first time and decide united about the future of our all lives. This is what we have to do now. Everything else is not relevant now. We have not only the responsibility for our species, we also have the responsibility about what we are doing for the whole universe. And this time there is no space for failures. Try and error is not an option this time!We believe, that the situation of facing the biggest threat of mankind is at the same time the biggest chance to come together for the very first time and decide united about the future of our all lives.
