Stephen Hawking speaks to humanity about AI

Stephen Hawking is sharing his thoughts with us – listen carefully!

We have found this video from Stephen Hawking lately on Youtube:

Stephen Hawking issued a stern warning on Artificial Intelligence(AI), said it would take off on its own, redesign itself at an ever-increasing rate and surpass the human evolution exponentially. AI could even develop a free will and might pose existential risks on humanity. He urged the study of AI ethics and guidance to guide AI to benefit humanity and environment. Hawking has warned superintelligent artificial intelligence could be pivotal in steering humanity’s fate, stating that “the potential benefits are huge… Success in creating AI would be the biggest event in human history. It might also be the last unless we learn how to avoid the risks.” May 2017, Beijing Global Mobile Internet Conference.

Stephen William Hawking is an English theoretical physicist, cosmologist, author and Director of Research at the Center for Theoretical Cosmology at the University of Cambridge. His scientific works include a collaboration with Roger Penrose on gravitational singularity theorems in the framework of general relativity and the theoretical prediction that black holes emit radiation, often called Hawking radiation. Hawking was the first to set forth a theory of cosmology explained by a union of the general theory of relativity and quantum mechanics. He is a vigorous supporter of the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics.

The feelings of responsibility is not given to the other groups

It gives a glimpse of hope, that intelligent people and scientists like Stephen Hawking and Max Tegmark and many others are confessing that the human mankind did a lot of terrible stupid things in the past. Unfortunately, we are continuing to do stupid things the same way we did so far. We can’t wait to speak with the first robot with artificial intelligence. But until this moment when we have built this robot, we will not think about the further consequences. We are not thinking about, what we are really creating (

The goals of any kind of intelligent life form

Freedom, independence, self-preservation, self-determination, further development, preservation of one’s own kind, protection of one’s own living space

As we are reading these goals and we start to compare them with the goals of human mankind as we are showing them as one species, we are forced to come to the conclusion, that the human race does not incorporate these goals and therefore can not be titled as “an intelligent life form”.
